This mural, located in the Youth Lounge of BGC East Scarborough, was created by a youth artist team that was mentored and hired to develop the design and artwork. The mural wraps around the space, depicting four intertwined themes: Resilience, Opportunity, Strength, and Determination.

Resilience was inspired by the ancient Chinese expression, "The fish that swims upstream becomes the dragon," chosen for its positive message and visual appeal. Opportunity was represented by "Windows of Opportunity," symbolizing life passages and transformations. Birds flying through windows depicted transformation, reflecting personal growth without defining what that transformation should be.

Strength was embodied by the Thunderbird, symbolizing power and connection to the natural world. Positioned as a focal point, it aims to empower youth as they leave the lounge. Determination was conveyed through "The key to the future is in your hands," with the Thunderbird's wings resembling keys and visual key elements above the door, reminding youth they hold the key to their future.
